Nintendo reveals exclusive items set for sale at Tokyo store
Nintendo Tokyo will open on November 22
Nintendo has revealed some of the exclusive items it will be selling at its new Tokyo store, which is set to open on November 22.
The store will be based in Shibuya’s Parco department building and stock many exclusive items including pins, bags, t-shirts and stationery. More exclusive items will be revealed at a later date.
Customers will also be able to experience Nintendo Switch software at the store including Ring Fit Adventure, Super Mario Odyssey and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe.
Nintendo will hold a pre-opening event in the two days before the ‘grand’ opening, with a total of 250 groups of 500 people set to be invited to visit the store during this period. Attendees will be picked via lottery and can apply on the store’s website.
Tokyo is Nintendo’s second flagship store, following 2005’s opening of Nintendo New York.
The Super Nintendo World theme park at Universal Studios Japan will open in spring 2020, in time for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.
Following the Japan opening, Super Nintendo World is scheduled to come to Universal’s Orlando, Hollywood and Singapore parks, although a timeline for openings outside of Japan hasn’t been announced.
Nintendo Switch sales have surpassed 10 million units in Europe and 15 million units in North America, the platform holder said this month.
