Nintendo Japan confirms Ring Fit is in ‘short supply’ across country
Platform holder apologises for shortages as title continues to sell well
Nintendo Japan has apologised for Ring Fit Adventure shortages, as the title continues to sell well in the region.
Since its release in October, Ring Fit Adventure has seen steady sales in Japan and hasn’t yet dropped outside the region’s top four selling titles each week, contributing to a reported stock shortage.
According to Japan-based games consultant Dr. Serkan Toto, some of the country’s biggest retail stores have seen their Ring Fit displays left empty.
Japan’s biggest electronics store, Yodobashi Camera in Akihabara, claimed the title was its best selling on Switch. Famitsu data suggests that the fitness game had sold almost 300,000 units in Japan as of November 24.
In a statement published on its website, Nintendo Japan apologised for any inconvenience caused by what it called a “short supply” of stock throughout the country.
“We continue to ship every week, and we will increase the number of shipments toward the end of the year so that as many people as possible can deliver,” it said.
In VGC’s Ring Fit Adventure review, we called the title “a unique and entertaining adventure that could offer laxed gym-goers a compelling route back into exercise.”
