Nintendo is offering prizes if you spot London’s Mario-themed buses

Mario-themed buses have appeared around London – and Nintendo is offering prizes if you spot one.

The buses, which feature Mario, Luigi, Peach, Toad, or Yoshi, are colour-coordinated with their respective character.

Londoners who post a picture of the bus on social media with the correct hashtag can win a prize pack including a Super Mario bros. Wonder T-Shirt, a pin set, a 2D diorama, a Talking Flower Figure, and a sticker sheet.

It’s unclear if there is only one bus with each of the five livery on it, or if several Super Mario Bros. Wonder busses are patrolling London.

Last week, Super Mario Bros. Wonder appeared online, almost a week away from its official release.

It’s far from the first time a first-party Nintendo Switch game has leaked in this manner. Previously, Pokemon Legends: Arceus and Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl made it into public hands nearly two weeks before their releases.

Earlier this year, The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom also appeared on ROM-sharing sites almost two weeks before its official release.

On Friday, LA-based voice actor Kevin Afghani announced that he’s the new voice of Mario and Luigi in Super Mario Bros. Wonder.

Nintendo announced this summer that Charles Martinet – who has voiced Mario for over 25 years – would be stepping down from the role, but it didn’t announce who had replaced him.

“Incredibly proud to have voiced Mario and Luigi in Super Mario Bros. Wonder,” Afgahni wrote. “Thanks to Nintendo for inviting me into the Flower Kingdom!”
