Nintendo announces Bravely Default 2 for 2020 release
Switch Square Enix sequel to feature new world and story
Nintendo and Square Enix have announced Bravely Default 2 for Nintendo Switch, the sequel to the 2012 RPG released for Nintendo 3DS.
Set for release in 2020, the sequel will feature a new world, a new story, and music from Revo (Sound Horizon/Linked Horizon), composer of the original Bravely Default soundtrack.
The original Bravely Default is set in the world of Luxendarc, which is kept in balance by four elemental crystals protected by the Crystal Orthodoxy, a religious group with influence across the world.
Agnès Oblige, vestal of the Wind Crystal, is forced to begin a journey to awaken the crystals after they are consumed by darkness.
The 3DS game featured a turn-based battle system and job system, in addition to incorporating options to combine job abilities and adjust battle speed and random encounter rates.
Bravely Default already received a sequel in 2015 with Bravely Second: End Layer.
