Ninja to stream Gears 5 campaign before release
Stream to kick off at 5pm CT (11pm UK) on Tuesday
Tyler ‘Ninja’ Blevins’ is to stream the Gears 5 campaign on Tuesday, shortly before the Xbox One game is made publicly available.
The title’s “first ever” story playthrough will be viewable on his Mixer channel from 5pm CT (11pm UK) on Tuesday, Ninja said. We’ve embedded it below too.
“I probably won’t play the entire thing on stream I dont wanna ruin it for everyone,” Ninja added.
Ninja was one of Twitch’s most popular streamers, with over 14 million followers and known for his Fortnite streams, before announcing in August that he’d signed to stream exclusively for Mixer.
Microsoft reportedly paid some $50 million to secure Ninja’s services in a bid to help Mixer compete with streaming giants Twitch and YouTube.
Ninja’s Mixer channel has amassed over two million subscribers, although Microsoft’s currently offering a one-month free trial (normally $5.99) until September 30.
The Gears 5 release date is September 10, 2019, but Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers will be able to play it four days earlier from Friday, September 6.
