Next week’s Epic Games Store freebie has been confirmed.
The Antstream – Epic Welcome Pack will be free from November 25 until December 2, offering players in-game currency for Antstream Arcade, a streaming service for over 1,000 retro games covering the likes of the Amiga, C64, ZX Spectrum, NES, SNES, Mega Drive and arcade.
Normally priced at $14.99, the Antstream pack will includes 1,090 Gems, which can be “spent on playing games, challenges and limited-time tournaments. Gems can also be used to unlock harder challenges and play turn-based PvP against friends and other players”.
UPDATE: Open world hunting game theHunter: Call of the Wild will also be free to download from the Epic Games Store from November 25 until December 2.
ORIGINAL STORY CONTINUES: The Antstream pack will replace Guild of Dungeoneering, Never Alone and Kid A Mnesia Exhibition, which are currently free to download until November 25.
Epic claimed in January that the Epic Games Store had attracted over 160 million PC users since launching in December 2018.
The company has been giving away free titles on a weekly basis since the marketplace launched, including 103 games in 2020, collectively worth $2,407 based on US prices. Epic said users claimed over 749 million free titles last year.
The PC version of Splinter Cell Chaos Theory is also free to download on publisher Ubisoft’s store until November 25 at 2pm (local time).
