“I hope you are looking forward to it,” says game’s creative director
Nintendo will announce the next Super Smash Bros. Ultimate DLC fighter during its E3 2019 Nintendo Direct on Tuesday.
The news was confirmed during the company’s Smash Bros. Ultimate Invitational tournament by the game’s creative director, Masahiro Sakurai.
“I’ll be continuing my work on the next DLC fighter and more information regarding that will be shared during the Nintendo Direct for E3 2019, so I hope you are looking forward to it,” he told the audience.
Nintendo intends to release five DLC characters for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate as part of the game’s season pass. The first character to be released was Persona 5’s Joker.
Nintendo recently claimed that Super Smash Bros Ultimate has sold faster than any other Nintendo home console game ever.
The game released on December 7, 2018 and had sold 13.81 million units by March 31, 2019, making it the third bestselling Switch game to date.
Switch’s bestselling game is Mario Kart 8 (16.69 million copies), followed by Super Mario Odyssey (14.44 million copies).
