New Ubisoft Connect service will offer cross-progression and digital rewards

Ubisoft Club and Uplay are merging into a new set of services called Ubisoft Connect.

Launching alongside Watch Dogs Legion on October 29, Ubisoft describes Connect as “the evolution of our ecosystem of services for all Ubisoft games across all platforms”.

For its newest games including Hyper Scape, Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, Immortals Fenyx Rising and Riders Republic, Ubisoft Connect will support cross-progression, meaning players can save a game on one platform and resume it on another.

It will also offer access to digital rewards. Each time players level up in Ubisoft Connect, they’ll earn Units which can be spent on items such as weapons, skins, emotes and consumables.

In an FAQ, Ubisoft said “the transition from Uplay/Ubisoft Club to Ubisoft Connect does not impact what is associated to your account. You keep your profile, your friends, your stats, your level, your XP and units. A new loyalty system will start but will remain compatible with units and XP.”

Ubisoft Club rewards have also been unlocked for over 30 games that are no longer patched and have not transitioned to Ubisoft Connect.

Ubisoft recently detailed post-launch content plans for Watch Dogs Legion and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, including story expansions and new modes.

An Immortals Fenyx Rising demo will be available for Stadia beginning on October 22.
