Newly released Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League footage shows the team taking down The Flash.

The gameplay footage, which was included as part of today’s PlayStation State of Play presentation, featured all four characters – Harley Quinn, King Shark, Captain Boomerang and Deadshot – working together to take down a large sentient artillery canon and dozens of reinforcements.

Playable solo or with up to four players in online co-op, the game’s original story follows Suicide Squad members Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Captain Boomerang and King Shark, who are on a mission to save Earth and kill the world’s greatest DC Super Heroes, the Justice League.

The game features a “fluid combat and traversal system unique to each villain’s violent tastes,” according to marketing game manager Gaz Deaves.

“Whether you want to jump to the top of a building in a single leap as King Shark or speed force to your trusty boomerang as Captain Boomerang, each playable character delivers unique skills and abilities tailored to them.”

“With Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, we want to create a game where the city itself becomes part of the combat,” Deaves added.

“In order to do this, we knew we had to make our biggest map yet — Metropolis is more than twice the size of Batman: Arkham Knight’s Gotham, but it’s not just about size – we’ve put the detail and personality in our world that we think makes it feel alive, and that players expect from us. ”

Also shown off during the presentation was the game’s gear system, which includes dozens of customisable guns, costumes, and other cosmetic items.

A battle pass will also feature in the game, although Rocksteady claims the items included in it will only be cosmetic. Post-game support including new characters and missions was also announced.

Late last year, Rocksteady confirmed that the late Kevin Conroy will portray Batman one final time in the game.

The Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League will be available on May 26, 2023 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
