New Pokémon Snap for Nintendo Switch is coming soon
Follow-up to the N64 game is being developed by Bandai Namco
The Pokémon Company has announced New Pokémon Snap for Nintendo Switch.
The first-person game, which is “coming soon,” challenges you to photograph Pokémon while exploring colourful island settings.
Pokémon Snap originally released for Nintendo 64 in 1999 before being made available to Wii owners as a Virtual Console title in 2007. New Pokémon Snap is a new title inspired by the original game and developed by Bandai Namco.
“Pokémon Snap, which was released on Nintendo 64 over 20 years ago, is coming to Nintendo Switch in a whole new way,” Pokémon Company CEO Tsunekazu Ishihara said during a digital presentation on Wednesday.
“We’re hard at work developing New Pokémon Snap for Nintendo Switch. We look forward to sharing more details with you soon.”
Today’s digital event was also used to reveal Pokémon Smile and Pokémon Café Mix.
Pokémon Smile is a free iOS and Android app designed to make teeth brushing for kids a fun activity. Pokémon Café Mix for Switch and mobile devices is a free-to-start game in which you own a café and have to keep visiting Pokémon fed and watered by completing puzzles.
The Pokémon Company also said it plans to announce a new “big project” during another digital event on June 24.
