New Nintendo Switch Online games now available including Star Fox 2
Plus Super Punch-Out, Kirby Super Star, Breath of Fire II and more
The Nintendo Switch Online library of classic games has been updated with four SNES titles and two NES ones.
The headline addition is Star Fox 2, which was unreleased on its target platform and only officially became available to players via 2017’s SNES Mini console.
It’s joined by fellow SNES games Super Punch-Out, Kirby Super Star and Breath of Fire II.
The NES Nintendo Switch Online app has also been updated today with RPG Crystalis and shooter Journey to Silius.
New NES and SNES games for Nintendo Switch Online will be released “irregularly” going forward, Nintendo said In September. Prior to the launch of the SNES library of games for the subscription service, new NES titles were added on a monthly basis.
Nintendo Switch Online’s SNES library featured 20 games at launch including Super Mario World, Super Mario Kart, F-Zero, Star Fox, Super Metroid, Pilot Wings and The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past. It also supports the rewind feature released for Switch Online’s NES games.
Nintendo released SNES controllers for Nintendo Switch to use with the new library of titles, although they are currently out of stock until 2020.
Over 10 million Nintendo account holders have signed up to Nintendo Switch Online since it debuted in September 2018, according to Nintendo.
