New Lords of the Fallen 2 details revealed as CI Games targets 2026 release
Sequel to feature “more commercial art style and narrative, elevated production values”
CI Games has revealed some new details about Lords of the Fallen 2, which is in full production at its Hexworks studio.
The company confirmed in June that a sequel to Lords of the Fallen was in development for Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and PC.
CI Games said at the time that it had signed a deal granting Epic Games the “exclusive worldwide distribution rights… on the PC platform for the entire product life cycle”.
In a recent financial report, the company said it’s currently planning to reveal the game in 2025 and release it the following year.
The Unreal Engine 5 game will feature “increased game mode optionality”, a “more commercial art style and narrative”, “elevated production values”, and “full ‘shared-progression’ co-op alongside core single player campaign”.
Released in October 2023 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store, Lords of the Fallen was a reboot of the dark fantasy action-RPG of the same name that was released in 2014.
Set over 1,000 years after the events of the original, it casts players as one of the fabled Dark Crusaders, who are on a mission to overthrow a demon God called Adyr.
Lords of the Fallen earned scores of 70 (PS5), 75 (PC) and 77 (Xbox Series X/S) on review aggregations site Metacritic, and hit one million sales 10 days after its release, according to CI Games.
