Little Nightmares 3’s new ‘Friendship’ trailer shows off the co-op adventure
Supermassive’s sequel is coming to PC and consoles in 2025
Bandai Namco premiered a new Little Nightmares 3 trailer during Gamescom Opening Night Live on Tuesday.
The upcoming sequel will be a co-op adventure, playable as either a solo player with an AI companion or with a friend.
“In the latest trailer, you’ll see just a few of the challenges waiting for Low and Alone that you’ll need to overcome,” Bandai Namco said.
“In our first-ever online co-op game, two children will need to collaborate with different tools to solve the eternal problem facing Visitors in this charmingly horrible nightmare world – staying alive.”
Little Nightmares 3 is planned for release on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC in 2025.
Unlike the first two games in the series, Little Nightmares 3 isn’t developed by Tarsier. Instead it’s being handled by Supermassive Games, the studio behind Until Dawn, The Dark Pictures Anthology and The Quarry.
In February 2021, Tarsier – which was acquired by Embracer Group in 2019 – said it would no longer be working on the series and was instead focused on a new IP.
Tarsier revealed its new game, Reanimal, during Gamescom Opening Night Live too.
“The creators of Little Nightmares return to take you on a darker, more terrifying journey than ever before,” according to an official description for the game. “In this horror adventure, a brother & sister go through hell to rescue their missing friends & escape the island that they used to call home”.
