New Gran Turismo 7 video confirms there are over 400 cars in the game

Sony Interactive Entertainment has released the latest in a series of behind the scenes videos for Gran Turismo 7.

In it, Polyphony Digital CEO Kazunori Yamauchi confirms how many cars will be included in the upcoming racing game.

Gran Turismo 7 includes cutting-edge PS5-quality models, but what makes GT7 special isn’t just the high quality,” he says. “It’s also the sheer number of car models it contains.

“There are over 400 cars in the game. And many of the most fascinating cars from motoring history are included in GT7.”

Revealing new details about the title in September, Yamauchi said GT7 was “both the culmination of the series which answers the expectations of GT fans throughout the years, and at the same time it is a title that marks a beginning of a difficult mission to contain the full breadth of car culture from the past into a single video game”.

Sony recently detailed Gran Turismo 7 pre-order items and the game’s 25th Anniversary Edition, which costs $90 / £90.

Customers who pre-order the PS4 and PS5 racing game at participating retailers ahead of its March 4, 2022 release date will receive a selection of bonus in-game items.

US-based consumers hoping to purchase a PS5 console can now register their interest directly with Sony for a chance to do so. The company is making a limited number of PS5 consoles available for customers in the US to purchase directly from PlayStation this holiday season.

Sony will stream a new State of Play presentation on October 27. Kicking off at 2pm PT / 5pm ET / 10pm UK and lasting for about 20 minutes, the broadcast will focus on announcements and updates for third-party games coming to PS5 and PS4.
