New Gran Turismo 7 update fixes an issue which could reset game progression
Update 1.09 is available now
Polyphony Digital has released a new Gran Turismo 7 patch.
Update 1.09 (see the full patch notes below) has five main fixes, including one for “a rare issue where the game progression would reset if the game was started with an unstable network connection”.
The patch was released on Friday alongside a message from developer Polyphony confirming plans to rebalance Gran Turismo 7’s in-game economy following severe criticism from players.
Polyphony boss Kazunori Yamauchi apologised to fans for recent issues with the game, including a lengthy server outage and a lack of transparency over changes to its in-game currency system, and promised to alleviate them with a major update in early April.
“We know that this is not the Gran Turismo experience you expect and we will be making a goodwill gesture in the form of a non-paid credit pack of 1 million Cr available to those players who may have been affected,” he said.
The credits, which would cost around $15 if bought with microtransactions, will be made available to everyone who owned a digital or physical copy of the game before today.
In the long term, Yamauchi also said the Sony studio will add the much-requested ability to sell cars for in-game credits.
VGC first reported last week that the PlayStation racer has Sony’s lowest ever user score on Metacritic – which at the time of writing sits at 1.5.
