New dungeons, quests and flying options coming to Hogwarts Legacy with official PC mod support

Official Hogwarts Legacy modding support launches for PC this week

Warner Bros. will introduce official modding support for Hogwarts Legacy with the game’s next free update.

The feature will be available for PC players beginning on January 30, when the Hogwarts Legacy Creator Kit and in-game Mod Manager will be released.

Avalanche Software community manager Chandler Wood revealed the plans in a video published on Monday, which is viewable above.

“So what’s possible with modding? Whether it’s adding small touches like hairstyles or character cosmetics, or diving deep with gameplay changes like new dungeons and quests, I’m excited for what I’ve seen so far,” he said.

“In fact, we’ve been working hard with some incredible mod creators ahead of launch to make sure you’ll have some really cool things ready to play with right from day one.”

Released in February 2023, the Harry Potter spin-off RPG was that year’s best-selling game ahead of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.

It has since gone on to sell over 30 million copies, according to Warner. In the summer of 2024, it was claimed that the company was working on an unannounced Hogwarts Legacy Director’s Cut.

Last September, Warner’s chief financial officer Gunnar Wiedenfels said a successor to Hogwarts Legacy was one of the company’s “biggest priorities in a couple of years down the road”.

And in November, outgoing Warner Bros. Interactive president David Haddad said the Hogwarts Legacy follow-up will tie in with the upcoming Harry Potter TV series, which is targeted to hit HBO in 2026.
