New Battlefield 5 free weekend trial launches

DICE has launched the last of four planned Battlefield V free weekend trials.

Timed to follow Thursday’s release of Battlefield V’s War in the Pacific update, the free trial offers players access to all the game’s multiplayer maps and modes from November 1-3. You can download it here for PC, Xbox One and PS4.

War in the Pacific introduces new maps, factions (the US and Japan), weapons and vehicles, including boats, while quality of life improvements include UI tweaks, fortifications, sound and audio adjustments.

Battlefield V Year 2 Edition, a new $49.99/£54.99 version of the title which replaces the previously available Deluxe Edition, was announced on Thursday. It includes the base game and a set of rewards released throughout its first year including weapons, vehicles, outfits and skins.

The Battlefield 6 release date will fall between April 2021 and March 2022, EA revealed on Tuesday.

The publisher also said it will bring its games to Steam, starting with Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order on November 15.

Other EA titles such as Apex Legends, The Sims 4, FIFA 20, Battlefield V and Unravel 2 will arrive “in the coming months,” while the EA Access subscription service will launch on Steam in spring 2020.
