New Avowed story trailer confirms Obsidian’s RPG is still set for a 2024 release
The game will be available for Xbox Series X/S and PC
Microsoft has released a new Avowed trailer, which confirms the game is still on track to release in 2024.
Obsidian’s RPG will be released for Xbox Series X/S and PC later this year. As a first-party Xbox Game Studios title, it will also be available on Game Pass at launch.
Avowed is a first-person fantasy action RPG set in the world of Eora, which was originally introduced in the studio’s Pillars of Eternity franchise.
“In Avowed, as the envoy sent directly by the Aedyran emperor, your adventure kicks off in Paradis, the bustling port city at the heart of the Living Lands,” the game’s director Carrie Patel said.
“This vibrant hub has been shaped and reshaped by generations of pioneers, each leaving their mark, often in blood, on the Living Lands. It’s also the epicenter of tension between Aedyran forces and the locals, who are suspicious of Aedyr’s growing presence.”
The trailer shows the “three distinct voices” that will guide the player throughout the game – the emperor, extremist paladin Inquisitor Lödwyn, and the player’s companion Giatta.
“As a stranger to these shores, you’ll need to navigate your relationship with all three of these factions, work to uncover the source of the Dreamscourge and prevent it from plunging the Living Lands into madness,” Patel explained.
“Every choice you make could tip the balance of fate toward one faction or the other. Who will you align with? Who will you destroy? And who will ultimately control the Living Lands? “
