Netflix’s Pokémon Concierge gets a new trailer and December release date

Netflix has announced a December 28 release date for Pokémon Concierge.

Revealed in February, Pokémon Concierge is a stop-motion series produced by Dwarf Animation Studio, a French company that previously worked on Monsters at Work for Disney.

The series, which will be set at a Pokémon Resort, tells the story of a concierge called Haru, who works there.

The show follows Haru and her Psyduck friend as they greet the many Pokémon who visit the resort as guests.

The new trailer above was released to coincide with today’s release date announcement.

Minyoung Kim, vice president of content APAC for Netflix, said when the series was announced during a Pokémon Presents stream: “We have a group of experts here in Japan who are passionate about finding and developing original stories from Japan that can excite audiences all over the world.

“We are dedicated to adapting fan favourite stories and manga into extraordinary shows.

“With this title, we’ve decided to marry an entirely new storyline that expands the Pokémon universe with groundbreaking stop-motion animation. To bring this new world to life we’ve partnered with the amazing creative team at Dwarf Studio.”

Variety reported in 2021 that the Netflix was working with The Pokémon Company on a new live-action Pokémon series.

The site’s sources claimed that the show – which has still yet to be announced – would be written and executive produced by Joe Henderson, who was co-showrunner and executive producer on Netflix’s fantasy superhero series Lucifer.
