Netflix’s Dragon Age: Absolution gets a new trailer and a December release date
The animated Dragon Age show will consist of six episodes
Netflix has released a new trailer for its animated Dragon Age series, and confirmed its official release date.
According to the streaming company, Dragon Age: Absolution will be released on December 9.
As is Netflix‘s typical policy, all six episodes of the series will be released on the same date, meaning viewers will be able to watch the entire story in one sitting on December 9.
In a tweet promoting the new trailer, Netflix simply said: “Welcome to Miriam’s story.” The trailer can be viewed below:
A new description for the show reads as follows: “With great power at stake, a group of mages, fighters, and thieves goes head to head against a sinister force possessing a dangerous artifact.
“This animated fantasy series is created by Mairghread Scott, writer of Justice League Dark: Apokolips War.
“Set in the world of BioWare’s award-winning video game franchise, and built in close collaboration with BioWare’s creative team – including head writers, and lead creative directors.
“Fear. Guilt. Pain. Can Miriam push aside her feelings to complete her mission – or will the trauma looming over her past finally catch up with her Nothing is absolute.”
The trailer’s description on YouTube also ends: “If you’ve read this far, see you on Dragon Age Day. Or maybe sooner.”
Dragon Age Day, an annual community celebration of all things Dragon Age, takes place on December 4 each year.
As such, it appears that Netflix will be sharing more information on the show as part of this year’s event.
The fourth Dragon Age game is officially named Dragon Age: Dreadwolf.
Although a release date has yet to be confimed, Bioware general manager Gary McKay stated last month that the game has reached alpha status and is playable “from the opening scenes of the first mission to the very end”.
