Netflix is creating a CGI Resident Evil movie starring Leon and Claire
Infinite Darkness will begin streaming next year
Netflix will stream a new CGI Resident Evil movie in 2021.
That’s according to a trailer posted on the platform’s Portuguese Twitter account, seemingly ahead of an official announcement.
Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness features game protagonists Leon Kennedy and Claire Redfield, the video confirms. No other details have been revealed at the time of publishing.
Infinite Darkness will seemingly be the second Resident Evil collaboration to appear on Netflix in the near future. Netflix announced a live action series based on Resident Evil last month, developed by Constantin Film, which is also behind the Resident Evil movies.

According to the platform’s synopsis, the show will feature “the Wesker kids” as they uncover secrets inside of New Raccoon City. Albert Wesker is one of the primary antagonists in the Resident Evil games.
“When the Wesker kids move to New Raccoon City, the secrets they uncover might just be the end of everything,” it said.
The plan is for the series to “expand the Resident Evil universe and deepen the exiting mythology,” according to the series’ production company.
Capcom announced this month that the Resident Evil series has now sold 103 million units to date.
The next series instalment, Resident Evil Village, was revealed during a PlayStation 5 reveal event in June. The first-person title is planned for release on PC and next-gen consoles in 2021.
According to development sources, Capcom is planning to remake Resident Evil 4 via Osaka-based M-Two, the new studio founded by former PlatinumGames head Tatsuya Minami, which has been preparing for its development since 2018.
