Naughty Dog will reveal ‘all-new’ Last of Us content this weekend
As part of its annual Last of Us community celebration
Naughty Dog has confirmed plans to reveal “all-new” Last of Us content this weekend.
Whatever form it takes, the new content will be unveiled on September 26 as part of The Last of Us Day, an annual event celebrating the PlayStation series and its community.
Ahead of the main event, Naughty Dog used a PlayStation Blog post to reveal a new range of Last of Us merchandise including clothing, homeware, and guitar accessories.
“In addition to the merch below, we will be revealing some all-new content on September 26 at 9:00am PT/ 6:00pm CET,” wrote Joshua Bradley, Naughty Dog’s designer of communications. “Be sure to come back and check it out on TheLastofUs.com/TLOUDay.”
Fans will be hoping this weekend’s reveal brings a first look at The Last of Us 2’s delayed Factions multiplayer mode, which may have been expanded into a full standalone title.
A story outline has already been written for a potential The Last of Us Part 3, but it’s not currently being developed, according to Naughty Dog’s co-president and creative director Neil Druckmann.
However, Naughty Dog is reportedly working on a PS5 remake of the original The Last of Us.
Another possible reveal could be a first look at HBO’s upcoming Last of Us series. The adaptation, which is the first TV show from PlayStation Productions, is currently shooting in Alberta, Canada.
For seven years prior to last year’s event, The Last of Us Day was called Outbreak Day, but Naughty Dog renamed it in light of the coronavirus pandemic.
