Apple reveals most downloaded iOS games of 2019
And crowns its Games of the Year
Apple has revealed the most downloaded iOS games of the year and crowned Sky: Children of the Light by thatgamecompany its iPhone Game of the Year.
Hyper Light Drifter by Abylight is the company’s iPad Game of the Year, GRIS by Nomada is Mac Game of the Year and DotEmu’s Wonder Boy: The Dragon’s Trap is Apple TV Game of the Year.
Finally, Simogo’s Sayonara Wild Hearts is Apple’s Apple Arcade Game of the Year.
In the sales charts, Mario Kart Tour was 2019’s most downloaded free-to-play game, with Call of Duty: Mobile at No. 4.
In the paid charts, Minecraft is at No. 1, followed by trivia game Heads Up and Plague Inc.
Apple’s games subscription service, Apple Arcade, recently reached a 100-game milestone. Apple Arcade launched in September priced at $4.99/£4.99 a month, although new users can sample the subscription service free for one month.
The service offers unlimited access to a large library of new games rolling out this autumn for iPhone, iPad, Mac and Apple TV.
