Mortal Kombat 11 trailer reveals Liu Kang, Kung Lao and Jax
Generations collide in NetherRealm’s time-bending fighter
The latest Mortal Kombat 11 trailer has revealed Shaolin monks Liu Kang and Kung Lao, and Special Forces veteran Jax Briggs, as playable characters in the game, which is developed by NetherRealm Studios.
Publisher Warner Bros. says the title’s time-bending story mode will see players assume the roles of fighters from different eras, “culminating in the ultimate generational clash as current characters collide with their alternate selves”.
The roster of confirmed Mortal Kombat 11 playable characters includes Scorpion, Raiden, Sub-Zero, Sonya Blade, Skarlet, Baraka, Geras, Kano, D’Vorah, Kabal, Jade, Johnny Cage, Cassie Cage, Erron Black, Jacqui Briggs, Kotal Kahn, Noob Saibot, Liu Kang, Kung Lao and Jax Briggs, with further reveals planned over the coming weeks.
The Mortal Kombat 11 release date is April 23 on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC. Players who pre-order the PS4 or Xbox One versions of the game at selected retailers will gain access o the Mortal Kombat 11 closed beta, which is set to run from March 27 until April 1.
It’ll feature five playable characters (Baraka, Jade, Kabal, Scarlet and Scorpion), online multiplayer matches, the single-player Towers of Time challenge mode, plus a preview of the new character customisation system, which lets players personalise fighters with various skins, gear, abilities, cinematics, taunts and brutalities.
