Monster Hunter World: Iceborne dated for PC with new trailer

Massive expansion releasing early January 2020 on Steam

Capcom has confirmed a January 9, 2020 launch date for the PC version of Monster Hunter World: Iceborne.

Iceborne is a major expansion for Monster Hunter World, Capcom’s best-selling title of all time, and requires the base game to play.

Various editions of Monster Hunter World: Iceborne are now available to pre-purchase on Steam.

To coincide with the launch date announcement, Capcom released the new Iceborne PC trailer above.

Key features of the PC version include high resolution textures, 4K resolution support, an uncapped frame rate, ultrawide 21:9 support, DirectX 12 support, and revamped mouse and keyboard controls.

In a press release, Capcom said Iceborne will include “robust free post-launch support” with the first title update for PC scheduled for early February. It will include Rajang and the Resident Evil crossover, which can be seen in the trailers below, plus Your Room updates.

A second title update due in March will introduce a new monster for PC, while later title updates are expected to be released simultaneously across all platforms.

VGC’s Monster Hunter World: Iceborne review called it “a monster-sized expansion that builds on and enhances Monster Hunter: World in every way”, and “an essential upgrade for hunters craving new monsters, challenges, and gear”.

Monster Hunter World: Iceborne shipped over 2.5 million units worldwide within a week of its PS4 and Xbox One release on September 6, according to Capcom.

The company said the figure represented a “solid start” for the expansion and had helped the series surpass 58 million lifetime sales as of September 13, 2019.
