Monster Hunter Stories 2 reveals post-launch content plan, shows co-op gameplay
Launch trailer also published ahead of next week’s Switch release
Capcom has released a fresh batch of Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin details ahead of the Switch game’s arrival on July 9.
Billed as “a rich RPG story”, Monster Hunter Stories 2 is the follow-up to 2016’s Nintendo 3DS title which was also turned into a TV animation series.
Players assume the role of a Monster Rider who befriends iconic creatures from the Monster Hunter series as they embark on adventures together.
On Friday Capcom aired a lengthy video presentation in which series producer Ryozo Tsujimoto and director Kenji Oguro detailed Wings of Ruin’s post-release content roadmap.
Capcom also released a co-op gameplay video and the title’s launch trailer, both of which are viewable on this page.
As previously announced, the game’s first post-launch update will introduce the Palamute from Monster Hunter Rise.
Capcom confirmed today that four more free updates are set to arrive by October 2021. These will add new co-op quests and Monsties, which are monsters that players can form bonds with.
A free trial version of Monster Hunter Stories 2: Wings of Ruin is currently available on the Switch eShop, and players can transfer save data to the full game should they choose to purchase it.
