Monster Hunter Rise’s Sunbreak expansion has been dated with a new trailer
The add-on will be released for Switch and PC in June
Capcom has confirmed a June 30, 2022 release date for Monster Hunter Rise’s Sunbreak expansion.
The news was announced during a digital event (viewable above) focused on the Nintendo Switch and PC expansion, which will require the base game to play.
Pre-orders for the paid DLC, which was previously confirmed to be in line for a summer release, begin today.
Sunbreak will include new stories, locales and monsters, as well as newly added hunting actions and Master Rank quest difficulty.
“Team up with the Knights of the Royal Order and face the biggest threats yet: Garangolm, Lunagaron and Malzeno!” reads the blurb accompanying a new Sunbreak trailer released on Tuesday, which is viewable above.
There will be a standard digital-only edition of Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak, a special Deluxe Edition including bonus content such as layered armour sets, gestures, and hairstyle, and a new Monster Hunter Rise + Sunbreak edition for Switch (physical or digital) and PC (digital-only).
Capcom has also announced plans to release three new Monster Hunter Rise Sunbreak amiibo for Switch. The Malzeno-inspired amiibo will unlock special layered armour for hunters, Palamutes and Palicos.
Monster Hunter Rise released for Switch in March 2021 and for PC in January 2022. A free game trial is currently available for Switch Online members until March 17.
