Modern Warfare Xbox One crashing issue ‘identified’ by Infinity Ward
Studio working on a fix for new Call of Duty game
Infinity Ward says it has identified an issue resulting in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare crashing Xbox One X consoles.
On Friday the company said the issue was affecting “a small number of Xbox One X players”, although Reddit users have since reported experiencing crashes on other Xbox One models too.
In an update posted on Reddit, the game’s developer said it was working with Microsoft to resolve the problem.
“We have identified an issue that is affecting some players on Xbox One X,” Infinity Ward said. “Players affected are experiencing crashes. We are working with Microsoft to address the issue.
“We genuinely can’t thank you all enough for providing us with your ongoing feedback this launch, every bit of information helps. Stand by for more updates on this issue soon, and thank you for your patience and your help while we work towards a solution.”

Released on Friday, Modern Warfare features a unified narrative experience and progression across the entire game including campaign, multiplayer and Special Ops missions, and for the first time in the series PC and console players can play together online via cross-platform play.

Modern Warfare sold 39% more physical copies in the UK during its launch week than last year’s Call of Duty: Black Ops 4, helping the game knock FIFA 20 off the top of the software chart for the first time since late September.
