Modern Warfare update adds 1v1 Gunfight and Gun Game
5v5 Shipment 24/7 also introduced in latest playlist update
The latest Call of Duty: Modern Warfare playlist update introduces a new Gunfight variant.
Players can now play the mode in 1v1 matches for the first time, as well as the 2v2 option the game launched with.
Infinity Ward said in December it also intends to release a 3v3 version of Gunfight.
The new update also sees Gun Game mode replace Grind and 5v5 Shipment 24/7 replace Shoot House 24/7 as the featured playlist.
Modern Warfare Season 1 and the game’s first Battle Pass launched in early December, ushering in “the biggest free content drop in Call of Duty history,” according to Activision.
The game’s publisher has claimed Modern Warfare’s multiplayer component is the most played at launch of any Call of Duty game this generation.
More than 500 million multiplayer hours were played across almost 300 million online matches in the first 50 days following the game’s October 25 release, representing the highest level of player engagement in six years, it said in December.
A recently uncovered Modern Warfare glitch let players explore locations which look set to be included in the game’s anticipated but still to be confirmed battle royale mode.
