Modern Warfare and Warzone update not appearing for some PS4 players
Infinity Ward ‘investigating issue’
Infinity Ward says it’s investigating an issue with the latest Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Warzone update not appearing for some PlayStation 4 users.
The title update began rolling out across PS4, Xbox One and PC at 11pm PT on Monday (1am ET / 7am UK on Tuesday).
“We’re currently investigating an issue with tonight’s update not appearing for PS4 players” Infinity Ward said shortly after its release. “We’ll provide another update when we have more information. Thank you for your patience.”
Update: Infinity Ward says “this issue is resolved and players are now able to begin downloading tonight’s update on PS4. Thank you again for your patience.”
Original story continues: For Warzone, the update includes a limited-time Classic Battle Royale mode which removes features such as Buy Stations, Contracts and the Gulag. It also introduces SMG and assault rifle weapons to the Gulag, and a new Armor Box, which can be used by the entire team to replenish their armor.
For Modern Warfare, the update introduces new Gunfight map Aisle 9 and new multiplayer map Hardhat, among other features (see full patch notes).
Activision announced this month that Call of Duty: Warzone has attracted over 60 million players since releasing on March 10, while 2019’s Modern Warfare has sold more copies and has more players “than any prior Call of Duty title at this point after its release”.
The publisher also said the next premium Call of Duty game, which is expected to be a Black Ops title from Treyarch, “already looks great and remains on track for release later this year”.
