The game will feature updated versions of all 16 launch maps from 2009’s Modern Warfare 2. Five of these (Favela, Skidrow, Rust, Estate and Highrise) will be included in the beta, along with new Ground War experiences.
The game’s second beta weekend will support cross-play on PC, PlayStation and Xbox consoles.
The Call of Duty Next live stream will also showcase Modern Warfare 3’s Zombies mode, the new Call of Duty Warzone map and Call of Duty: Warzone Mobile.
Set for release on November 10, 2023, Modern Warfare 3 is a direct sequel to last year’s Modern Warfare 2. Development is being led by Sledgehammer, in collaboration with Infinity Ward, while Treyarch is in charge of its Zombies mode.
In an interview published this week, Activision president Rob Kostich said the company has Call of Duty games planned out through 2027, and that 3,000 developers are currently working on the franchise.
