Call of Duty dataminer @ModenasHD previously claimed to have uncovered evidence of a Walking Dead crossover coming to the series.
“Found in game strings, Rick Grimes and Michonne could release as Operators,” they said in November.
“While there’s no confirmation yet, it is most likely tied to ‘The Ones Who Live’ spin-off releasing February 25th 2024,” they added.
The upcoming AMC show is set after the conclusion of the original The Walking Dead series.
Modern Warfare 3 and Warzone Season 1 Reloaded launched in mid-January, introducing a new multiplayer map and fresh modes, among other features.
Campaign and multiplayer gameplay footage of a previously unseen Call of Duty title leaked over the weekend.
The futuristic sci-fi series entry, which was codenamed NX1, was once in development at Activision’s Neversoft studio, which was best known for its work on the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater and Guitar Hero series prior to its closure in 2014.
Former Call of Duty general manager Johanna Faries was named as Blizzard’s new president on Monday.
