Modern Warfare 2019 campaign trailer features returning characters
Reboot set for release on October 25
Activision has released the first campaign trailer for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare.
The publisher describes the reboot’s single-player story as an “edgy, culturally relevant and thought-provoking” campaign with returning characters from the Modern Warfare series, including fan-favourite Captain Price.
“Players will engage in breathtaking covert operations alongside a diverse cast of international special forces throughout iconic European cities and volatile expanses of the Middle East,” the game’s blurb reads.
In development at the franchise’s original studio, Infinity Ward, Modern Warfare is described as an “epic reimagining of the iconic Modern Warfare series from the ground up”.
The reboot features an all-new game engine and for the first time in the series PC and console players will be able to play together online via cross-platform play.
In addition, Activision says it will deliver post-release maps and content for free to all players, as opposed to through its traditional paid season pass model.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare will release on October 25.
