MLB The Show 24 cover star, release date and Game Pass launch announced

Sony and the MLB have unveiled MLB The Show 24, including the game’s cover star.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr., the 24-year-old Canadian-Dominican Toronto Blue Jays star, will grace the box of this year’s series entry, which will be released on March 19, 2024.

Pre-orders for the game, which is developed by Sony’s San Diego Studio, are now open.

PS4, Xbox One and Switch versions of the title will cost $59.99 / £49.99, with PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions priced at $69.99 / £59.99.

MLB The Show 24 marks the franchise’s third appearance on a Nintendo console and its fourth on Xbox systems.

As was the case with the last three series entries, the standard edition of MLB The Show 24 will be included with Xbox Game Pass on day one.

The Collector’s Edition of MLB The Show 24 will be revealed on February 6.

Sony previously said the decision to put its internally-developed baseball series on Game Pass was made by license holder the MLB.

The PlayStation maker will stream a new State of Play presentation this Wednesday.

The 40-minute show will feature over 15 upcoming games, including PS5 titles Stellar Blade and Rise of the Ronin.
