Minecraft Dungeons releasing April 2020
Mojang recently opened closed beta registrations
The Minecraft Dungeons release date will fall in April 2020, publisher Microsoft has announced.
It had previously been confirmed that the title would launch for PC and consoles next spring.
Microsoft released the opening cinematic for the game (above) in October, while opening registrations for a Minecraft Dungeons closed beta.
The action-adventure game, which is inspired by classic dungeon crawlers, is playable solo or co-op in a group of up to four people.
There’s no confirmed date for the closed beta, but you can register to participate here.
The Minecraft Dungeons release date was revealed during Microsoft’s X019 event on Thursday, which was also used to announced new IPS from Rare and Obsidian, plus over 40 new Xbox Games Pass titles.
The early access version of mobile title Minecraft Earth launched in the US this week, following its recent release in the UK, Canada, South Korea, Philippines, Sweden, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand and Iceland.
To coincide with its US release, Microsoft has announced Mobs in the Park, a series of “interactive and experiential events featuring Minecraft Earth mobs popping up in New York City, London and Sydney” beginning on Saturday, November 16.
Sales of the original Minecraft have topped 176 million and Microsoft said in September that the game attracts over 112 million players every month.
