Mike Bithell’s John Wick Hex set for October release

Ian McShane and Lance Reddick set to reprise roles

John Wick Hex, the strategy game created by developer Mike Bithell, will release on October 8 for PC and Mac via the Epic Games store.

Bithell Games has previously said that console ports will arrive at a later date, but there was no update in Friday’s news.

John Wick Hex is described as a “timeline strategy game,” with the player manoeuvring the protagonist through grids of hexagons, while queuing up moves and actions in a timeline.

“Ammo is finite and realistically simulated, so time your reloads and make the most of the tools you find on the job,” the game’s developer said.

The game features an original storyline with voice contributions from Ian McShane and Lance Reddick, who reprise their roles from the film franchise. Troy Baker is set to play the antagonist, Hex.

Mike Bithell rose to fame with the success of his critically-acclaimed, self-made game Thomas Was Alone, which released in 2012 and went on to sell more than one million copies.

Danny Wallace, who narrated the game, won a BAFTA Best Performer award for his work on the title.
