Microsoft reveals ‘extremely limited edition’ Xbox joins Bethesda controller set
Company will give away seven controllers themed around Bethesda games
Microsoft is set to give away a highly limited edition set of Xbox controllers to commemorate its acquisition of Bethesda.
The set includes controllers themed around Bethesda titles Dishonored, Prey, Doom, Fallout, The Evil Within, The Elder Scrolls Online and Wolfenstein.
The controllers come in a chest adorned with the Bethesda and Xbox Game Pass logos, and have an approximate retail value of $399, according to Microsoft.
Aaron Greenberg, general manager of Xbox games marketing at Microsoft, said the Xbox Twitter account will soon reveal details about how to be in with a chance of winning the limited edition peripherals.
At this time, there’s no indication that the controllers will be made available to purchase.

ORIGINAL STORY CONTINUES:
Microsoft announced on March 9 that it had officially completed the acquisition of ZeniMax Media, the parent company of Bethesda Softworks, in a $7.5 billion deal.
Following the news, Xbox boss Phil Spencer said delivering exclusive games for platforms that support Xbox Game Pass was the primary reason Microsoft had acquired ZeniMax.
Microsoft recently confirmed that March’s Xbox system update includes fixes for “many of the controller disconnects” players have reported over the past four months.
According to a list of known Xbox Series X/S issues, some users may have been experiencing “frequent disconnects” with the new wireless controller that launched alongside the consoles in November.
Microsoft has also said it’s working on a fix for unresponsiveness some players are experiencing with the new Xbox controller.
The company revealed two new Xbox controller colours last week. The Electric Volt controller will be released on April 27 priced at $64.99, while the Daystrike Camo Special Edition controller will be available on May 4 for $69.99.
The upcoming controllers are the first pieces of Xbox hardware to use post-consumer recycled resins, according to Microsoft.
“Both controllers will contain a portion of resins made from recycled materials like automotive headlight covers, plastic water jugs, and CDs,” it explained.
“We expect no compromises from these recycled materials either, as our testing shows the materials provide the same controller durability or performance you have come to expect.
“We are excited to be taking this next step in our commitment to waste reduction and recycling, while still coming up with innovative new controller designs.”
Earlier this year, Microsoft used a customer experience survey to ask Xbox Series X/S owners if they would like to see any PlayStation controller features made available for its consoles.
