Microsoft has made a real Xbox fridge, based on the popular meme

Microsoft has made a real Xbox Series X fridge, based on a popular meme circulated earlier this year.

The promotional items were sent to influencer iJustine and rapper Snoop Dogg, and function exactly as a normal fridge would but with an Xbox Series X design, complete with boot-up music upon opening its door.

The fridge is based on various memes circulated following Series X’s December 2019 reveal, comparing the console’s unique design to that of a refrigerator.

“You knew we had to do this,” wrote Xbox marketing boss Aaron Greenberg. “Check out the full unboxing of the fastest, most powerful fridge!”

Launching worldwide on November 10, Xbox Series X is priced at $499/€499/£449 and Xbox Series S costs $300/$300/£249.

The first unofficial Xbox Series X unboxing video was published last week, showing players what to expect when they get their hands on retail units in under a month. A second unboxing video was posted online on Thursday.

Images reportedly showing Xbox Series X/S consoles received by a Target store in the United States have been published online.
