Michael Jordan revealed as the cover star for NBA 2K23’s special editions

2K has announced that basketball legend Michael Jordan will grace the cover of two NBA 2K23 special editions.

Jordan will be the cover star on the NBA 2K23 Michael Jordan Edition and the limited NBA 2K23 Championship Edition.

The publisher has also confirmed that the NBA 2K23 release date is September 9, 2022.

More cover athlete reveals will be announced over the next two days, and pricing will be announced when pre-orders go live on July 7.

14-time NBA All-Star Jordan previously appeared on the cover for NBA 2K11, NBA 2K12 and the NBA 2K16 Special Edition.

This year’s series entry reintroduces The Jordan Challenge, which tasks players with recreating 15 iconic moments from his career. It will include rebuilt versions of the 10 original challenges from NBA 2K11 alongside five new ones.

“After making 23 the most recognizable number in sports, it was only fitting that for NBA 2K23 we introduce the Michael Jordan Edition,” said Alfie Brody, vice president of global marketing strategy for NBA 2K.

“Additionally, we’re thrilled to introduce a brand new premium edition of the game with the NBA 2K23 Championship Edition, as no other player embodies the word ‘champion’ like Jordan.

“This limited-edition version will also offer players the opportunity to catch on-court action throughout the season with a 12-month subscription to NBA League Pass included. We look forward to celebrating this game with the community when it’s released on September 9.”
