Metro Exodus getting 2 DLC story expansions
Coming this summer and early 2020, with new playable character and weapon
Metro Exodus is set to receive two story expansions, publisher Deep Silver has announced.
The first expansion, titled The Two Colonels, tells the story of Colonel Khlebnikov during the last days of life in Siberian city Novosibirsk, “which Colonel Miller retraces a year later”.
Described as “a new linear chapter” in the post-apocalyptic shooter, it’ll include a fresh weapon, the flamethrower.
The second piece of DLC, Sam’s Story, will see players step into the shoes of a new character and the Aurora’s only American, Spartan Ranger Sam. After the Spartans discover life outside of the Moscow Metro, former US marine Sam rekindles hopes of making his way back to the USA.
His story will feature a “new sandbox survival level” based on the Russian port city Vladivostok, characterised by “tsunami ravaged harbours, ruined industrial buildings, and crumbling residential districts”.
Both add-ons will be available as part of a $24.99/£19.99 expansion pass or purchasable separately. The pass is now available to pre-order on PS4, Xbox One and PC via the Epic Games store.
Epic claimed in March that Metro: Exodus sold over 2.5 times as many copies in its first few weeks of availability on the Epic Games store than the previous series entry, Metro: Last Light, sold on Steam over the same period of time.
