Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater will reuse the original game’s voice lines
Konami isn’t planning to record any new dialogue for the remake
The upcoming Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater remake will reuse the voice lines from the original game.
Announcing Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater last week, Konami said it will “star the original voice characters, rich storyline and expansive features of combat survival in harsh environments evolved with unprecedented graphics and immersive sound”.
Tommy Williams, Konami’s head of communications for the Americas, has now confirmed to The Verge that the remake will reuse the voice lines from the original game with no changes.
Unless plans change, this seemingly rules out the original voice actors returning to record any new dialogue for the PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC release, which is being co-developed with Virtuos, as originally reported by VGC.
Konami has also confirmed that neither Hideo Kojima nor Kojima Productions is involved in Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater.
The remake was announced alongside Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 1, which will be released this fall / autumn.
It will include Metal Gear, Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake, Metal Gear Solid (including VR Missions/Special Missions), Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty (HD Collection version) and Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater (HD Collection version).
