Capcom has announced the release date for Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection.
According to the publisher, the collection will be available on April 14 on Switch, PS4 and Steam.
The digital version of the game will consist of two separate volumes, containing Mega Man Battle Network 1-3 and 4-6 respectively.
The physical version of the game on Switch and PS4, meanwhile, will bundle both volumes together.
The full list of games featured in the compilation is as follows:
Volume 1
- Mega Man Battle Network
- Mega Man Battle Network 2
- Mega Man Battle Network 3: Blue
- Mega Man Battle Network 3: White
Volume 2
- Mega Man Battle Network 4: Blue Moon
- Mega Man Battle Network 4: Red Sun
- Mega Man Battle Network 5: Team Colonel
- Mega Man Battle Network 5: Team Protoman
- Mega Man Battle Network 6: Cybeast Gregar
- Mega Man Battle Network 6: Cybeast Falzar
Capcom has also confirmed that the compilation will include online multiplayer, allowing players to battle others around the world.
It will also include a gallery with over 1000 illustrations and a music mode with over 150 songs.
While the main Mega Man series is generally associated with side-scrolling action platforming, the Battle Network spin-offs were instead designed as RPGs.
Battles take place on a 6×3 grid and players collect Battle Chips, which are used during fights in a similar style to card-battling games.
The Battle Network series gained a standalone following of its own, leading to their own anime and manga series.
Battle Network 3-6 were re-released on the Wii U Virtual Console, but the first two games have only ever been released in their original GBA incarnations.
