May’s PlayStation Plus games have been revealed
Cities Skylines and Farming Simulator 19 will be available next month
Cities Skylines and Farming Simulator 19 are May’s PlayStation Plus games, Sony has announced.
City-building title Cities Skylines is currently priced at $39.99/£34.99 on the PlayStation Store, while Farming Simulator 19 costs $39.99/£39.99.
PlayStation Plus subscribers will be able to download the titles at no extra cost from May 5 until June 1.
April’s PlayStation Plus games, Uncharted 4 and Dirt Rally 2.0, are available until May 4.
Sony said in early January that PlayStation Plus had some 38.8 million subscribers. At the same time, it said it had sold 106 million PS4 consoles and five million PlayStation VR headsets.
The figures were announced by PlayStation boss Jim Ryan during Sony’s CES 2020 press conference, which was also used to reveal the PS5 logo and promise fans the console will deliver “the biggest and best” in content.
Sony expects PS5 to be backwards compatible with the “overwhelming majority” of PS4 games in the future, although only with the top 100 or so when it launches during the 2020 holiday season.
As part of an initiative designed to promote social distancing during the coronavirus pandemic, Sony is currently giving away PS4 games Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection and Journey. Players who download the titles free of charge before May 5 at 8pm PDT can keep them forever.
Microsoft confirmed May’s Xbox Live Games with Gold titles on Tuesday. They include V-Rally 4, Warhammer 40,000: Inquisitor – Martyr, Sensible World of Soccer and Overlord II.
