May’s PlayStation Plus Essential games are out now

Sony Interactive Entertainment has released May’s first wave of PlayStation Plus games.

This month’s PlayStation Plus Essential games are GRID Legends (PS5, PS4), Chivalry 2 (PS5, PS4) and Descenders (PS4).

Subscribers can claim the three titles until June 6.

Essential is the entry-level PlayStation Plus membership tier, which offers subscribers access to a few ‘free’ games every month.

Players can continue to play these games even after they’re no longer available to claim at the end of the monthly period if they continue to subscribe to PlayStation Plus Essential (or a higher tier).

Once their membership ends, they’ll no longer be able to play these games unless they resubscribe.

It was recently announced that Enhance’s Humanity will be released on May 16. It will be available on day one as part of May’s PlayStation Plus Game Catalogue line-up, which is reserved for Extra and Premium tier subscribers.

April’s PlayStation Plus Game Catalogue titles included Kena: Bridge of Spirits, Doom Eternal, Riders Republic, The Evil Within, Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom, Paradise Killer and Dishonored: Definitive Edition.

Sony is set to pull the PlayStation Plus Collection on May 9. Launched in 2020, the collection includes 19 PS4 games which PlayStation Plus subscribers can claim and play on PS5 at no extra charge.
