May’s NES games coming to Switch Online revealed
Donkey Kong Jr., VS. Excitebike and Clu Clu Land
Nintendo has revealed three new NES games set to be made available to Nintendo Switch Online users this month.
Donkey Kong Jr., VS. Excitebike and Clu Clu Land, which are shown off in the trailer above, will be available for subscribers to play from May 15.
Released in 1982, Donkey Kong Jr. is the sequel to the original Donkey Kong. Players take control of Donkey Kong’s son on a mission to rescue his dad from Mario, who’s cast in the unfamiliar role of the game’s villain.
VS. Excitebike features two-player split screen racing action, while Clu Clu Land sees players navigating a series of increasingly complex mazes while playing as a fish on a mission to uncover golden bars stolen by sea urchins.
The platform holder said last month that 9.8 million Nintendo account holders are signed up to Nintendo Switch Online.
Launched in September 2018, the service is required to play most Switch games online (Fortnite is a notable exclusion).
Members can also access a growing library of classic NES games, back up save data online, and receive special offers including free access to Tetris 99.
