May 2021’s Xbox Live Games with Gold titles have been announced
Armello, Dungeons 3, Lego Batman, and Tropico 4
Microsoft has announced May 2021’s Xbox Live Games with Gold titles.
On Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S, Xbox Live Gold subscribers will be able to download Armello (normally $19.99/£15.99) for free throughout May.
Dungeons 3 (normally $29.99/£26.99) will then be available as a free download from May 16 to June 15.
Xbox 360 game Lego Batman (normally $19.99/£14.99) will be free for Xbox Live Gold members from May 1-15.
And from May 16 until the end of the month, Tropico 4 (normally $9.99/£9.19) will be free to download.
As part of April’s Games with Gold line-up, members can download Vikings: Wolves of Midgard and Hard Corps: Uprising for free until the end of this month, while FIA European Truck Racing Championship is available until May 15.
As of April 21, an Xbox Live Gold subscription is no longer required to play free-to-play multiplayer games on Xbox consoles, or to access Looking for Group and party chat features.
Previously, Xbox Live Gold was required to play all Xbox games online, including over 50 free-to-play titles such as Warzone, Fortnite and Rocket League, which are available at no extra cost on rival platforms.
In January, Microsoft reversed plans to increase the price of a six-month Xbox Live Gold subscription by 50% to $60.
“We messed up today and you were right to let us know,” it said. “Connecting and playing with friends is a vital part of gaming and we failed to meet the expectations of players who count on it every day. As a result, we have decided not to change Xbox Live Gold pricing.”
