Mass Effect 4 and Dragon Age 4 won’t be making appearances at EA Play Live in July, BioWare has confirmed.

“We’re hard at work creating the next @dragonage and @masseffect games and have some exciting stuff coming to @SWTOR this year,” the studio tweeted on Thursday.

“While we won’t be showing anything at EA Play Live, be sure to check out our SWTOR Livestream at 12PM PT today for info on what’s to come!”

Earlier on Thursday, it was confirmed that EA Play Live will last for 40 minutes and focus on titles “coming out soon” including Battlefield 2042, Lost in Random and “a couple other games”.

BioWare first revealed it was working on a new Mass Effect game in November 2020 with the release of a teaser trailer.

“We are in early stages on the project and can’t say any more just yet, but we’re looking forward to sharing our vision for where we’ll be going next,” it said.

In December, BioWare said a number of Mass Effect trilogy veterans had returned to work on the next entry in the series.

BioWare published new Dragon Age 4 concept art in March 2021

BioWare released the first full trailer for the new Dragon Age game in December 2020. The video offered the first look at the RPG instalment since last summer’s Gamescom, when the EA studio said the game was still in early development.

“We’re still in early production but we thought it was time to give you the very first look at how BioWare’s passionate team of developers are crafting this very special game,” it said at the time.

EA has reportedly allowed BioWare to drop all planned multiplayer features from Dragon Age 4, which will now be a single player RPG rather than a live service game.

The publisher said last October that it doesn’t expect Dragon Age 4 to be released before April 2022.
