Marvel vs Capcom Fighting Collection potential release date briefly appears online before being deleted
The fighting game compilation brings classic titles to modern consoles
A potential release date for Marvel vs Capcom Fighting Collection appeared online briefly before it was deleted.
A release date of November 22 was listed on the game’s page on UK retailer ShopTo before it was quickly removed.
Before it was taken down, screenshots of the release date were posted on the ResetEra forum. VGC can confirm the legitimacy of the original listing.
Whether the listing was changed due to inaccuracy or because Capcom has yet to announce a release date is unknown.
The collection, which was announced earlier this year, will be released on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4, and PC, but not Microsoft‘s consoles.
Marvel vs Capcom Fighting Collection will include the following six games:
- X-Men Children of the Atom
- Marvel Super Heroes
- X-Men vs. Street Fighter
- Marvel Super Heroes vs. Street Fighter
- Marvel vs. Capcom Clash of Super Heroes
- Marvel vs. Capcom 2 New Age of Heroes
- The Punisher
“For Capcom fans, fighting game enthusiasts, comic book and Super Hero aficionados, and everyone in between, Marvel vs Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics offers a timeless celebration of a legacy fighting game series, delivering a diverse roster of iconic characters, enhanced features, and competitive gameplay,” Capcom said.
“Relive the nostalgia or discover enduring classics for the first time, uniting fans of all generations in celebration of Capcom’s legendary fighting game series, and stay tuned for more information on the collection in the coming months.”
VGC recently got the chance to play the upcoming collection.
“While we only saw pieces of what this collection offers, Marvel Vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics is shaping up to be the triumphant return to form that its fans have clamoured for years,” we wrote.
“The three games we checked out are faithfully recreated, the controls feel great on a fight stick and a controller, and the little additions to the experience are notable improvements.”
