Mario 3D World’s Switch add-on has players joining forces with Bowser Jr.
Nintendo premieres first look at Bowser’s Fury
Nintendo has published a new trailer for Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury, offering the first look at the Switch add-on.
Set for release on February 21, 2021, the updated game features both online and offline co-op. New Amiibo figures Cat Mario and Cat Peach will also be released at the same time as the game.
Bowser’s Fury is described as an “adventure” which has players joining forces with Bowser Jr. to stop his did, who has turned gargantuan.
Bowser and Bowser Jr. have large roles to play in Bowser’s Fury, Nintendo said, and their amiibo figures, which will also be returning for purchase at select retailers, have special activations.
The two new amiibo figures launching alongside the game will also offer in-game enhancements.
The Wii U port arrives as part of Super Mario’s 35th anniversary celebrations. In addition to 3D All-Stars – a collection of classic 3D Mario games – Nintendo has released several additional Mario games for Switch.
Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit allows players to race a real physical kart and upgraded versions of Super Mario Bros., Super Mario Bros.: The Lost Levels, Super Mario Bros. 2 and Super Mario Bros. 3 are available via Super Mario All-Stars on Nintendo Switch Online.
Finally, Game & Watch: Super Mario Bros. is a collectable device featuring classic Mario games released last year.
