March’s PlayStation Now games have been revealed
Shadow Warrior 3 will launch on the service day one
Sony Interactive Entertainment has announced March 2022’s PlayStation Now games.
Headlining next month’s additions to the streaming service is Shadow Warrior 3, which will join the service on its release date, March 1, 2022.
Developed by Flying Wild Hog and published by Devolver Digital, the latest entry in the first-person shooter series will be released for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
Developer Flying Wild Hog recently released a 10-minute gameplay demo of Shadow Warrior 3 in anticipation of its release.
“The Flying Wild Hog team has crafted Shadow Warrior 3 as the next evolution in our series to give more freedom to players in midst of the absolute chaos they create in combat,” lead producer Bartek Sawicki told the PlayStation Blog.
“The dance between wielding the katana and letting loose with a shuriken launcher or railgun before executing an enemy to finish the fight with fireworks cannon is an absolute blast.
“Wall running, swinging over chasms, and bringing down a 2,000-year-old bell tower on unsuspecting demons will keep the action up even more than ever before.”
Other games include Crysis Remastered, Relicta and Chicken Police – Paint It Red!, which will also join the service on March 1, 2022.
According to documents seen by Bloomberg, a new upcoming subscription service planned by Sony is codenamed ‘Spartacus’ and will combine the current PlayStation Plus and PlayStation Now services, phasing out the branding of the latter. It’s expected to launch for PS4 and PS5 this spring and to be structured across three payment tiers.
Classic games will reportedly be a ‘major part’ of the service, according to VentureBeat’s Jeff Grubb. Speaking on his premium Giantbomb show Grubbsnax (paywalled, transcribed by VGC), Grubb claimed to have obtained new information on Sony’s yet-to-be-announced subscription service, including pricing and the list of benefits players will receive.
